More Police Brutality: Tennessee Sheriff Fired After He Was Caught Brutally Choking Student (PHOTOS)

On Saturday night, Frank Phillips,a Knox County Sheriff Officer, responded to a party at the University of Tennessee after it became “unruly” and some of the 800 partygoers allegedly began throwing beer bottles.  On the scene, Phillips, along with two other officers, grabbed a 21-year-old college student and threw him in handcuffs. But what happened next got Phillips fired immediately.    John Messner, a photographer, took pictures of Phillips squeezing student Jarod Dotson’s neck until he fell to his knees, unconscious. You can watch a gif of the brutal attack above......   Messner’s still pictures, arranged by The Post in the GIF above, show two officers cuffing Dotson’s hands behind his back when Phillips came over and choked Dotson until he collapsed to his knees. Messner said that as Dotson was being pulled up he was smacked in the back of the head, “a snap-out-of-it kinda smack under the circumstances.”

The police report said that Dotson ignored repeated instructions to go inside. Deputy Brandon Gilliam wrote in the official report that Dotson “began to physically resist officers’ instructions to place his hands behind his back, and at one point grabbed on to an officer’s leg.”

Messner, however, disputes that report, telling the Washington Post that Dotson showed no signs of resisting arrest. And the well-documented pictures back up his story.

Phillips, 47, was found' unsuitable for continued employment  according to a termination notice posted Sunday night on the Knox County Sheriff Office’s website.  “In my 34 years of law enforcement experience, excessive force has never been tolerated. After an investigation by the Office of Professional Standards, I believe excessive force was used in this incident. The investigation will now be turned over to the Knox County Attorney General’s Office to determine any further action, said Sheriff Jimmy “J.J.” Jones.

As for the victim, he was charged with public intoxication and resisting arrest. Dotson was later released from jail on a $500 bond Sunday morning. And, save for the brutal assault, this story ends like many others don’t…without death and with immediate termination.

The following allegations read like a Hollywood movie script, but this isn’t a movie. A producer who used to work with Jay Z during the Roc-A-Fella Records era, allegedly planned to extort the Drunk in love rapper'' for $20 million over stolen master recordings.....
forcement sources tell HoodNEWS… a producer named Chauncey Mahan – who worked with Jay Z from 1998-2002 — was questioned Friday in connection with the alleged plot.

Here’s the backstory … Jay Z’s Roc-A-Fella Records recorded a boatload of master recordings between 1998 – 2002.  We’re told in 2002 the masters went missing — Jay Z and his people assumed they were lost. 

Fast forward to this past Friday.  Mahan apparently had a number of the masters in his Northridge, CA storage facility.  Law enforcement sources tell TMZ … Mahan allegedly contacted Live Nation — which has a joint venture with Jay Z called Roc Nation — and said he would either let the tapes go up for auction or give them the tapes for a $100K “storage fee.”  We’re told Mahan eventually agreed to take $75K.

We’re told on Friday Mahan went to the storage facility to seal the deal with Jay Z’s people.  Little did he know the LAPD had  been contacted by Jay Z’s people and showed up. We’re told cops then detained Mahan and he agreed to come into the station for questioning. He also agreed to let the LAPD take possession of the tapes until a judge determines ownership.

Mahan was not arrested, but our sources say the Beverly Hills PD is investigating the extortion allegations because that’s where Live Nation is based.  We’re also told Jay Z’s people filed a grand larceny complaint Friday with the NYPD and that investigation is ongoing.

President Jonathan who visited the scene of the deadly blast in Abuja where over 71 people died emphasised that there was need for the citizens to be enlightened to be security conscious and report suspicious persons and object to security agencies.

The president who was accompanied to the site by the president of the Senate, David Mark, the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar was received by the Chief of Defense staff, Alex Badeh as well as the chiefs of Army, Navy and Airforce.

Abuja Explosion: Death toll hits 70

The death toll from Monday explosion at Nyanya Bus Park has hit 70.

A NAN correspondent who got to the scene shortly after the blast, counted about 70 corpses.  The huge explosion left a big crater at the scene of the blast.

Those affected were passengers, mostly workers leaving the park to the city centre, petty traders and vehicles conveying passengers to other locations within and outside the FCT.

CSP Frank Mba, Police Force spokesman, confirmed that 16 high capacity buses, some cars and motorcycles were affected in the explosion.

He said investigation had begun.

“Experts from the Bomb Disposal Squad are on ground, the police are working with other security agencies.

“At this stage, we may not be able to give the casualty figure; the reasons are obvious; a lot of people are in the hospital; our detectives are visiting hospitals and taking count.

“We want to give you figures that we can back up with facts,’’ he said....

70-yr-old HIV patient rapes girl, 13

                                    

JOS— A 70-year-old man has been arrested for raping a 13-year-old girl in Barkin Ladi Local Government of Plateau State.

The man whose name has been withheld was said to have raped the girl last Thursday.

The suspect said to be  in police net is infected with HIV and is on anti-retroviral drugs.

The old man was said to have been caught in the act by the son of the landlord, who immediately reported the matter to the police.

It was also gathered that the old man had confessed committing  the crime, but later denied after some of his kinsmen told him to deny raping the minor.

The Plateau State Commissioner of Police, Mr Chris Olakpe confirmed that the 70-year-old man is in police custody in Barkin Ladi, for allegedly raping a 13-year-old girl but said he would be transferred to the headquarters in Jos..

BENIN—OFFICIALS of the 4 Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Benin City and the community members of one Mathew Adams, who was shot dead during Saturday’s ward congress of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Edo State, have engaged in a war of words, following denial of the killing by Army authorities.  

Spokesman of the Brigade, Captain Abubakar Abdulahi, told journalists on telephone that, “We heard of the incident and the allegation that a soldier shot the person, but we have checked the personnel that we deployed to the state’s Operation Thunderstorm. We have checked all the ammunition with their serial numbers and found all of them complete.

“So, the allegation is not true that our men shot and killed the person and we have not also received any report of engagement from our men.”

But narrating their side of the story, the Okao of Isiwa, Dr. Samuel Aibueku, said: “One Prince called soldiers, who came in a Hilux Van 028  to the venue and started scaring people away and shooting. Before we knew it, somebody was on the ground and the boy is from 

JUSTICE/RACISM : Receipt Clears Man After Serving 25 Years In Prison (VIDEO)

A Brooklyn man is freed after serving nearly 25 years in prison for a crime he didn't commit.   According to USA TODAY,  Jonathan Fleming was arrested in 1989 for the murder of his friend Darryl “Black” Rush in Brooklyn. Fleming was on vacation with his family in Florida at the time of the murder, but was still sent to jail due to “lack of evidence” and a witness claiming she saw Fleming shoot Rush.

 Chief Keef's  cousin, rapper Blood Money, real name Mario Hess, was shot and killed last night in the West Englewood neighborhood in Chicago....Sadly, the 30-year-old rapper was killed two weeks after he signed a major label deal with Interscope records, according to his manager and cousin Renaldo Reuben Hess.

According to Abc Local  here’s how the shooting went down:“Renaldo Hess said his cousin was on his way to the studio and stopped to talk to some girls in a car when someone walked up and shot him. Renaldo Hess says there was no known motive.    Police said Mario Hess, 30, was shot and killed about 9:30 p.m. in the 5600 block of South Elizabeth Street. He was found lying on a sidewalk with a gunshot wound to the chest.

He was taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, where he died at 10:29 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.”

Chris Brown  is down, but he’s certainly not out!

After a five-day trek from California to Washington D.C., Brown is said to be making the best of is stay at Northern Neck Regional Jail.   According to  TMZ. Chris has far more freedom in his new digs than he did in L.A. County Jail where he was previously being housed. The “Loyal” singer has been placed in limited general population with no restrictions against him which means he’s free to enjoy the few amenities provided to him including daily showers, TV access, a library, telephone use, exercise and meals in the cafeteria.  Breezy’s obviously been taking advantage of his phone privileges, calling his former girlfriend Karrueche  tran  to check in –  and do a little singing!    Prior to his arrival at Northern Neck, Chris was reportedly being held in solitary confinement 23 hours a day.   We’re crossing our fingers that things continue to go well for the 24-year-old R&B singer as he faces felony charges  in court.

SO SO SAD REST IN PEACE: Wrestling Legend The Ultimate Warrior Dead At 54 (PHOTOS)

 Days after being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, wrestling icon The Ultimate Warrior died on Tuesday. He was 54-years-old.

Sadly, he died suddenly and horrifically, right in front of his wife. According to TMZ.  Warrior collapsed without warning outside an Arizona hotel  at 5:50PM Tuesday while walking to his car with his wife.

He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Around 6AM Tuesday morning, just hours before his death, Warrior posed for pictures at the airport in New Orleans with fans where he was reportedly in great spirits.

Following the announcement, WWE officials released this statement:    “WWE is shocked and deeply saddened to learn of the passing of one of the most iconic WWE superstars ever, The Ultimate Warrior.”

Hellwig began his career in 1987 and through the years became one of the biggest wrestling stars in the company. He defeated Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania VI to win the world title.

On Saturday the wrestling legend was honored during the Hall of Fame induction — a ceremony that also marked his return to WWE after an 18-year hiatus. During his Hall of Fame speech, he announced that he’d signed a new multi-year deal with WWE to serve as an official ambassador.
