Jos—Unknown gun men have again struck in four communities in Riyom local government area of Plateau State killing 10 persons and burning over 100 houses.
The attack reportedly stormed Gwon, Torok, Gwawereng and Gwarim all in Rim district of the Local Government Area early yesterday shooting sporadically and setting houses on fire.

A survivor who does not want to be named alleged that the attackers were Fulani herdsmen accompanied by some people in uniform.
Confirming the incident, the Majority Leader of the Plateau State House of Assembly who is the member representing Riyom, Daniel Dem confirmed that 10 persons mostly women and children were burnt to ashes by the attackers. He described as sad, the constant killings of innocent people in his constituency.

”In most of the villages, attacks are carried out in the presence of men of the Special Task Force; why are they not going after the attackers?”, he queried.
Another survivor from Gwon village by name Bot called for the withdrawal of the Special Task Force as he said they have done more harm to the people than protecting them adding, “as the rainy season is approaching, I don’t think our people can go to their farms because of fear of constant attacks by gunmen.”
Already, villagers in the four communities attacked had fled their homes due to fear.
