Shocker: Vogue Italia Created Yet Another Racially Disrespectful Fashion Editorial (PHOTOS)

Why do we keep having to travel down this road? In the past year alone, we’ve reported on more black face editorials than there are days in the week, and of course with each offense comes an apology, but offensive editorials just keep rolling in.  The latest contender, once again, appears in the March 2014 issue of Vogue Italia. The spread, titled “ ABRACADABRA ” was shot by Steven Meisel and features model Saskia de Brauw in a series of images with her skin darkened while posing in ethnic wears.  While this may not be the “traditional” visualization of black face that has been editorialized in the past, the model’s skin is darkened as she poses with African Animals and in traditional paint markings juxtaposed with high-end designer clothing.  At this point, wagging the finger is pretty tiresome as editorials in poor taste continue to be greenlit and coupled with apologies, so for now, we’ll just wait for Vogue Italia to issue their statement on this issue.   Check out the full spread HERE'''
